Eleven months to go!

Well... January 2012 is behind us, and we're still here.

The ancient Mayans, those wise people who, between brutal and gory human sacrifices, found time to supposedly determine that the world will end this year (even if they couldn't narrow it down to a specific month or year. However, they have eleven more months to be proven right!

Or maybe there are eleven more months to prove that the Mayan Calendar no more predicted the End of the World than my 2005 Art of Masamune Shirow Calendar did when it ran out of pages. And eleven more months to prove that those who believe otherwise are idiots.

Whatever the case ends up being, here's a song celebrating that the End of the World has been delayed by at least one month.

High point (and en pointe) of Numa-Numa craze?

The Numa-Numa craze mostly passed me by a few years ago, but recently I've been delving into the creations that came out of it every now and then.

Out of all the "Numa=Numa" clips I've looked at, I think this one--featuring a ballet dancer performing a hilarious "Numa-Numa" routine--might be the most impressive of them all.

It's worth watching for the en pointe Moon-Walk alone. :)

The best Hotel California cover (together with a great spoof)!

The video isn't much to write home about, but DAMN if this isn't a great performance and arrangement of a great song! Mostly instrumental, it captures all the beauty and creepiness of the classic Eagles song and gives it an entirely new and fresh life.

Leading the performance is Iranian musician Farhad Besharati, playing a Kanun, a traditional Persian 78-stringed instrument that has a reputation of being one of the hardest instruments to master in the world.

And on the flip-side... we have this (a "Hotel California spoof by Cliff Darby with a vaguely similar sound that made me laugh, and which I've posted to my Facebook page but not here):

Saturday Night Ninja!

On the Saturday of last year's Nine Days of the Ninja Blogathon, I posted a couple YouTube ninja videos. I'm doing it again, including a reappearance of Ryan Higa. This officially makes it a tradition, yeah?

Stayin' Alive in the Wall

They mixed the most famous Bee-Gees song with the most famous Pink Floyd Song, edited together videos... and out came something surprisingly good! Check it out!

What rap through yonder speaker breaks?

Epic Rap Battles of History returns with Dr. Seuss vs. William Shakespeare!

It's not as good as "Albert Einstein vs. Stephen Hawking" but can that one ever be topped?

Everything is better with Michael Bolton?

I wouldn't really describe myself as a fan of either Michael Bolton or Lady Gaga (in fact, I would describe myself as NOT a fan of the latter), but the combo of the two work really nicely in this soft little pop tune/love song, "Murder My Heart."

Of course, I doubt Bolton will ever top his team up with Lonely Island!

The Best of Epic Rap Battles of History' Vol. 2

As we head for the weekend, here are three more of the greatest "Epic Rap Battles of History."

Abe Lincoln vs. Chuck Norris

Benjamin Franklin vs. Billy Mays

The Best of 'Epic Rap Battles of History' Vol. 1

A friend sent me a link to "Hitler vs. Vader" and I was so amused I took at look at the rest. So you don't have to waste the amount of time I did, I hereby offer the best of the "Epic Rap Battles of History." (I can't recommend watching these anywhere someone might take offense to strong language.)

Hitler vs. Vader

Albert Einstein vs. Stephen Hawkings

Sarah Palin vs. Lady Gaga

For the parents with young children....

I'm sure you can all relate.

(Samuel L. Jackson reads a foul-mouthed "children's good night story": "Go the F**k to Sleep")

Welcome to the Hotel California, Iran

There may be maniacal mullahs running the country, but this is one rockin' clip from Iranian television.

And here's a straight version of the song from Iranian-Armenian pop star Andy.

Mohammed Monday Special: DMD

The Second Annual "Draw Mohammad Day" has come and gone. Since I wasn't Raptured this past Saturday, I'm providing a Mohammed Monday Special Edition (since the usual Mohammed Monday is a feature at Shades of Gray) with a couple of my favorite YouTube videos from DMD2. (The bottom one is NOT one you want to play if you're somewhere F-bombs might get you in trouble.)

The Best of Moymoy Palaboy

THIS is what the web was created for. The zoophiles and pedarasts of al-Qaeda don't hate us for our freedom, but rather for making clips like these instead of providing more porn for them to download in their secret hideouts. And therein is the difference between Western Decadence and Islamic Decadence.

Presenting: The Best of Moymoy Palaboy.

Out of the kitchen.... into the streets!

And this final song is funny even without the Boys. (The lyrics are about as moronic as Rebecca Black's "Friday" song.)

Best coverage of Bin Laden's demise

A little satire as we consign Osama bin Laden to the garbage bag of history.

Krazy Kat and the Heppy Land Furfur Away!

"Krazy Kat" is one of the all-time classic comic strips. By George Herriman, it's surreal, poetic, funny, touching, violent, and just plain weird.

It's basically a Funny Animal strip about unrequited love... or maybe unconditional love. Whatever it's about, there's a triangle of love/hate between the innocent Krazy, the mean-spirited Ignatz, and the gruff Officer Pup. The strip long been a favorite of mine. Here are a couple random samples of the series. (Click on the images for readable versions.)

Here's a fun animation that gives the gist of Krazy Kat and his world.

Some reasons to vote Obama out of office in November 2012

Scenes like this belong in North Korea, not North America.

We should not be teaching our children to sing songs of worship to a man, but instead the ideals that our country stands for. We should be teaching children how the government functions and that American institutions are bigger and greater than one man. We should NEVER have a Dear Leader figure in the United States.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day, enjoying the time with family and friends and considering how fortunate we are. Even when things are at their worst for us here in the United States, we are better off than many, many people around the world.

Here's a bit of fun by way of a Thanksgiving pageant with Wednesday Addams in the role of Pocahontas (from "Addams Family Values"):

The Ninja Glare

More Ninja Music. I wonder if Ninjas are into rap, or if they prefer classic Motown.

The Ninja Rap

Too bad Godfrey Ho isn't making ninja movies anymore. He'd undoubtedly want to snatch this up and use it somehow.

Halloween song: Numa-Numa & 'Resident Evil'

Shadowleggy and cartoon versions of the "Resident Evil" characters offer up a "Resident Evil Musical"!
